As a long time employee with Rochester Community Schools, 28 years at Hart Middle School, I have seen such growth in the district. I have had the privilege to do many things; curriculum committees, a presenter at the Michigan Science Teachers Association numerous times, teacher leader, and much more. I was even honored by the MSTA as the Middle School Science Teacher of the Year. My teaching style promotes self confident communicators, student empowered group dynamics, and learning in ways that make sense to students. I use scientific notebooks in my classroom, as well as student engineering teams that help tremendously with these pursuits. I have been working a lot with classroom discourse, team building, and innovative thinking in my classroom. My learning and training never stops, as I am a facilitator/consultant for MiSTAR, and have recently been hired to be the Middle School Curriculum Coordinator for RCS.
