The factor-label method (also called dimensional analysis) is a critical tool that helps kids problem solve in a multitude of Chemistry situations, from basic measurement conversions to complex stoichiometry problems. This fun and unique activity has been used in Mr. Smith’s Chemistry class for the last 18 years to introduce measurement systems and the steps of the factor-label method with something completely unfamiliar. You students will show greater confidence with the math needed for conversions, density, molarity, and stoichiometry problems with a lesson they will never forget!
